In the mobile home or caravan, owners want a good internet connection like at home, e.g. B. checking emails, streaming the news, or being able to continue watching your Netflix series on vacation. You wouldn't want to do without the electronic newspaper on your tablet or planning the next stage of your journey with Google Maps.

And relocating the home office to the mobile home and mobile working on the go are also among the campers' wishes. Inside the camper or caravan, however, mobile phone reception or the WiFi signal of the campsite or parking space is often limited. Possibly the WLAN of the campsite or parking space is also subject to a fee and you wish for a cheaper solution.

With the SELFSAT MWR 5550, the MWR 4524 and the MWR 4550, SELFSAT offers three suitable complete solutions with different maximum connection speeds for stable and good WiFi coverage when traveling or on the campsite or parking space.

The centerpiece is an Internet router that can be operated via the 12 volt vehicle electrical system and which receives an incoming WiFi signal or, thanks to an inserted SIM card, a mobile network signal from outside and inside the mobile home or caravan as a private, password-protected device can emit a WiFi signal. This gives you a much better signal inside than you would have directly with your smartphone, tablet, laptop or TV. In addition, you can connect multiple devices to the Internet router at the same time. This has no SIM lock and can be used with the top-up SIM cards (prepaid) or contract SIM cards (postpaid) from various providers. Since it has 2 SIM card slots, e.g. For example, foreign SIM cards can also be used abroad.

The antenna receives the 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz WiFi signal from the campsite or parking space, as well as the 4G LTE or 5G mobile network signal. Thanks to MIMO technology (Multiple In Multiple Out), it can send and receive multiple data packets at the same time in order to achieve the best possible connection speed. The dust and waterproof antenna (protection class IP67) can be mounted directly on the roof of the mobile home or caravan. Thanks to a rubber seal, it protects against the ingress of water, but can also be used e.g. B. be glued with Sikaflex. In addition, the scope of delivery includes a 6 cm long thread extension with an outer diameter of 35 mm, which enables installation on different roof thicknesses. The antenna cables are routed through the inside of the thread into the vehicle interior. Alternatively, the antenna can be mounted on an optionally available roof mounting plate. This can also z. B. with Sikaflex glued to the roof (and if necessary additionally screwed).

In this case, the antenna cable can be routed inside through a roof duct that may already be available or that is included in the scope of delivery of the roof mounting plate. The cable length of the antenna is 1 m. Any required cable extensions with 1 m or 2 m are optionally available.

Connecting to your internet router's WLAN is as easy as in a hotel or at home. The first connection can be made using the QR code on the Internet router, or using the WiFi name and password. After changing the password, the connection is established using your personal password. The setup and operation of the simplified, user-friendly user interface of the internet router is equally possible for Apple or Android smartphones, tablets and laptops and is done via the internet browser. This means that no app needs to be installed.

Use the outdoor antenna to connect the WiFi router to the WiFi network of the campsite or motorhome parking space or to the mobile network and use the long-range 2.4 GHz WiFi signal sent out by your WiFi router to surf the Internet with your smartphone or tablet , to read an electronic newspaper or with your smart TV e.g. B. to stream from Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney +, YouTube or the media libraries of the TV stations.
